Rochester Hills has always been home. Although my family lived in other communities over the years, we consistently returned because of Rochester Community Schools. The district’s strong reputation, academic excellence, and commitment to students made it the place where we wanted to raise our family.
I graduated from the University of Michigan, where I studied English and Political Science, and I am married with two children. As a parent, I have experienced Rochester Community Schools from both ends of the educational journey. One child successfully graduated and is now pursuing STEM studies at the university level, while my youngest child has just begun elementary. These experiences has given me a deep appreciation for both the district’s strengths and the opportunities for continued improvement.
Professionally, I owned a writing and editing business before transitioning to the technology sector as an IT Business Analyst at DTE. My work focused on bringing people together, solving problems, balancing priorities, and keeping projects moving forward—skills that translate directly to effective board service.
My philosophy is simple: students deserve strong schools, staff deserve support, and the community deserves to be heard. Strong schools are built on strong relationships among students, families, educators, and administrators. Successful leadership requires listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, and keeping the focus on student success. I believe Rochester Community Schools succeeds because it consistently puts students first.
As a board member, I would focus on consistency, growth, and collaboration while ensuring the district remains financially responsible and committed to educational excellence. Public education is the foundation of strong communities, and I believe public resources should remain focused on supporting public schools and the students they serve.
Everything comes back to students. When we support staff, engage families, maintain fiscal responsibility, and keep students at the center of decision-making, we create opportunities for every child to thrive.
